Hooray! I am a finalist for Critical Mass!

I found this out a little while ago but thought I should post the great news! Read on for more details. Critical Mass is an annual online program that makes connections within the photography community. Photographers at any level, from anywhere in the world, submit a portfolio of 10 images. Through a pre-screening process, the field is narrowed to a group of 200 Finalists who go on to have their work viewed and voted on by over 200 esteemed international photography professionals. From the Finalist group, the Top 50 are named, and a series of awards are given, including at least one monograph each year. Photolucida publishes and distributes the titles, giving copies of the books to all participating photographers and jurors.Stay tuned for more details in the next month or so!

My work is featured here...

A photograph from the Dare alla Luce series was featured in LENS magazine (China). I included some information and a few links below.

Since LENS magazine was founded in 2005, it has focused on the changing realities of humanity, combining high-quality photographs, interviews and in-depth articles. Our magazine features photographers from all over the world with a variety of styles and techniques from documentary work to fine art photography. Our strong editorial team composed of award-winning photographers and journalists seek to describe contemporary life and human experience through the photography we feature. The photograph "Latent Light"  from the "Dare alla Luce" series by Amy Friend is featured in their April 2012 issue.  http://www.lensmagazine.com.cn/magazine/2012-04

Work in Progress

Hello, this has been a long time coming, but I would like to acknowledge the Ontario Arts Council for supporting Artists! I received an Emerging Artist Grant in 2011! Here is a one of the pieces I completed with the Grant.

Dare alla Luce - New Work

My newest body of work, Dare alla Luce  was recently shown at Brock University. I would like to thank the Ontario Arts Council for the Exhibition Assistance Grant! Without this support much of the work "we artists" make and exhibit would not be possible! Thank you!

The Ontario Arts Council is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
